Jaywalker Twelve – THE LIST!

Just so you know – I’ve been knitting along with you – right down to the wire! Tonight, at 10:18, I finished my EIGHTH pair of Jaywalkers.

These socks are two repeats longer than my usual. I thought I had a bigger skank so I took a chance on the first sock and added the extra repeats on the leg. I knew immediately upon finishing that I wouldn’t have enough for the second sock, but I ordered more instead of ripping. The color in the second skank is pretty different than the first, but I only used it at the top of the foot, so I don’t think it’s really noticable. I have enough left over for another pair. 😉

ONTO THE LIST! If your name appears here, you will be entered into the drawing at 11:11 PM. If your name does NOT appear here, and you think it should, please send me an email to cara AT januaryone DOT com and let me know. I will check it out and get back to you. Thanks everyone for an AMAZING RIDE!!!

  1. Wow, that is a truly staggering number of finished jaywalkers! Thanks Cara for hosting this – it has been really great to see everyone’s socks and the way the different yarns and colorways knit up. Congratulations everyone!

  2. Thanks for keeping it fun and so well organized, a mammoth task if ever there was one. I think you deserve a gold medal 😉

  3. Yay! Wow what a lot of Jaywalkers we’ve knitted!
Is it ridiculous for me to be all “Yippie!!” at seeing the little happy lovey smiley in front of my name? Because really, I’m thinking I should start spelling my name with a cutesy smiley in front of it all the time, if it gives me this much of a kick!

  4. I think you met an Olympic challenge just to keep all of that organized! What a lot of Jaywalkers! You are the Pied Piper of knitting! Thanks for all your work. You made it fun.

  5. So how glad are you that this is over!?!?

  6. holy crap! maybe you should host the st. brigid kal. wow!

  7. Thank YOUR, Cara for being such a fabulous organizer. Don’t know how you did it! You=awesome.
    Happy Valentine’s Day!! Hope it’s a good one! 🙂

  8. Alas, I didn’t even come close! I managed eight repeats of the pattern on one sock!!

  9. Thanks for organizing the KAL and putting up with all of us bandwagon jumpers! You are amazing, and I will have you know, I cannot stop knitting socks now!
Hope you stay warm and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  10. Wow. What a list. Kudos to you for keeping up with it as long as you did!
Love the newest ones – what colorway STR is that?

  11. I love the little blinky heart smilies!

  12. Wouldn’t it just be the coolest thing ever if we could get all of us in the same room with our Jaywalkers on? I’m imagining a school gym, with all of us posed like a class picture, but with our feet up in the air instead of our heads.

  13. That is some big-ass list of names. I don’t like my chances….
    😉

  14. I was thinking the same as Claudia. No matter, I have new socks on my feet today.

  15. Can I just win an award for the most sticktoitiveness or something? Like the *I take pity on Scout for ripping out a trillion times, having two different sizes and completely unmatched socks* award? 😉

  16. That’s amazing. Congratulations on a mega-successful knit-a-long!

  17. I like this last pair! Definitely more contrasty than the pink one with a picot edge. Gallery, yes?

  18. Wow! Eight pairs! That is so great. I couldn’t even finish one pair in time for your drawing…(well, due to a broken needle), but anyways, thanks for hosting the KAL. I had a great time!

  19. Thank you, Cara, for an amazing ride through Jaywalkers across the blogosphere. It’s been really fun! And I enjoy your photography. Beautiful! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  20. Holy Jaywalkers! That’s a bunch of socks. Thanks for getting us all together to knit a fun pair of socks together!

  21. Golly I write stupid comments when I’m in a hurry;-)

  22. Thanks Cara for creating the KAL, for hosting such a large crowd, for providing such ongoing inspiration and leadership (and a few kicks in the ass etc.) and for being so generous. Congratulations on all your socks; you have your own little family of Jaywalkers – they are so cool. I would love to see a group photo of all of your socks hanging out together (I know you did one before but might be time for an update). I really enjoyed my first KAL – you are freakin’ 🙂 awesome! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  23. Unbelievable – 172 finalists! And so many blogs to check out and add to bloglines! What a fantastic task, you are an unbelievable host ( in hopes that buttering her up will secure one of the winning skeins of STR)…just kidding!
    Holding breath till 11:11!
    Happy V-day!

  24. Woot! Thank you so much for an excellent kal Cara! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  25. wow, thats a whole lotta socks!
Thanks again Cara, for an excellent KAL (despite my tardy and short stay!)

  26. Your Jaywalkers look great! Ye gads, half the knitting bloggers must be in this one. 🙂

  27. Yikes! Whoever it is running the 200sox knitalong/tally is probably jealous. 🙂

  28. This was fun! Thanks for hostessing!
11:11 has been my favorite time of day since I was a kid! (As soon as I realized that it’s the only time of day when all of the numbers on the digital clock are the same.) I used to lay awake at night until I saw 11:11 on the clock, then I’d drift happily off to sleep 🙂

  29. PS forgot to say that I like the colors on your 12th pair!

  30. Oops 8th pair. It’s after 11:11. Obviously, I need to go to bed!
