Saturday, with a Chance of Wonderful

  1. Beautiful sky!
I like your “square” – yours always look so neat (the knitting looks so neat an even). Do you weave the ends in as you go, or when you’re finished?

  2. Hey there, Cara! Loving the squares! I have to say the denim is really making me a happy knitting mama. I’ll be posting about my method when I return, but just wanted to say a Key West hey!

  3. Oh, and also? I’m interested in what you’re learning about joining squares (the green ones) because I realized that, after two squares, I was kind of screwing myself by not slipping the first stitch , because now I have edges that are- naturally- part bound off, part garter ridges. And I’m knitting in a border. I know- suicide. Any wisdom?

  4. Great sky shot. Too bad that blue didn’t travel a wee bit farther south, too.

  5. Gorgeous! Both sky and knitting. What a wonderful way to start the day.

  6. A truly swoon-worthy post!
Are you a ‘Cloudy, with a Chance of Meatballs’ fan, too? It was my son’s favorite book. I must’ve read it at least 500 times.

  7. Blue. And Square. A classic combination!
    🙂

  8. i see some serious blanket action coming along! it’s looking really cool! random numbers seem to be working out great.

  9. Thanks for the sky………….I’m really liking the color combination………..

  10. I love the reds/pinks with the browns and blacks — stunning! Hope you are having a great weekend!

  11. ok, a question. is it going to be one big square of a blanket…meaning is it that one block and you keep adding to that one block…or are you stopping that block at one point and starting another? either way, neat-o!

  12. After seeing your last post, I decided to start making log cabin squares too. I bought the mason dixon book and some Cherry Tree Hill yarn and I’m starting with throw pillows for my living room. I love it, especially how easy and mindless it is for me. At first I was a little worried about picking up stitches neatly but I am getting better and better at it. Thanks so much for inspiring me.

  13. So cool. I’m lovin the colors! Have you thought of doing a blanket where not only the number of rows but also the colors are determined at random? I wonder how that would turn out. Hmm….

  14. Lookin’ nifty!

  15. yes! your sky is beautiful! looks like fiber to be twisted….

  16. Beautiful!! I love the colors you’re using and the way you are “randomizing” (I know it’s NOT a word!) the squares – so fun!

  17. That log cabin project it coming along so well!

  18. Your square looks incredible. I just can’t get over how lovely the colors look together.

  19. Beautiful, Beautiful and Beautiful!
I saw no sky…I was inside shopping my life away this weekend! Thanks for the snapshot!

  20. Blue skies shining at you…nothing but blue skies do I…er see…
    Love, love, love the square!!!

  21. I love it–can’t wait to see how it turns out!

  22. Your “chance” cabin is coming along so wonderfully!

  23. Great sky and I love your latest log cabin!

  24. I think you got wonderful! I am so totally going to make a pilgrimage to Marengo when I’m in Chicago. Those colors!

  25. I love the random log cabin. As soon as I finish my straight squares, I’m going to have to try randomness. 🙂
