I gotta tell you, WHAT A RELIEF! We got home pretty late Saturday night – but I immediately pulled on my NEW SOCKS!
Thank you ELIZABETH! Not just for restoring my faith in the sock swap but for Lorna’s Laces, which I’ve never tried before, and a very well done short row heel, which I’ve never knit to my liking before and for an all around awesome pair of socks! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
And Amysue, my sock pal, seems to be pretty happy with her socks as well. Go on over and give her some get well wishes. She’s a bit under the weather these days! FEEL GOOD AMYSUE! Socks for everyone!!!
Alas, I’m pretty sure this is going to be my last sockapalanything. Too much anxiety. 😉
That’s it for me today – I’m on a deadline and then I’m going to relax. And tell you about Maryland. Just a bit of a warning: I didn’t take ANY pictures. So go around and visit everyone’s pictures and then come back tomorrow for a preview of my purchases and a contest. A kind of hard, hopefully fun contest!
Those socks are beautiful! I’m so glad you got them.
MD was great. Amazing, how many bloggers were at the meet up. Your shawl is even more amazing in person!
ooh! those socks are adorable! Well done short row heels are a thing to behold, indeed.
And I missed ya this weekend … Rhinebeck, definitely. Hugs to you!
Glad the socks arrived! I can’t wait to see your haul. I know how you feel about the looza stuff. That’s why I don’t even bother signing up for those things. Too much stress.
I think it’s a Sockapaloooza Bonanza this week! Yours are beautiful.
Can’t wait to hear all about the weekend. Didja have fun?
Awesome socks Cara!! I’m so glad they were there waiting for you. Mine arrived Friday and I thought “I hope Caras will be there when she gets home from Maryland.” I think a small but important detail of *communication* needs to be part of any swap/exchange guidelines.
Pretty socks! My first look at the photo, I didn’t realize the socks were folded. I thought they were baby socks (I was seeing what is the heel as if it were the toe), and I wondered, How will Cara get her feet into those? Ta dah! Seeing them on your feet, I thought, it’s magic! They are really pretty! Enjoy!
I just KNEW you would come home to Sockpal Socks!!! How wonderful and they are so perfect…nothing like you’ve knit before. What a great pal you had and looks like you were a great pal, too. Hurray. Now cough up what you did and bought at MD!
Hooray–you got them!!! I’ve been checking everyday to see if they had arrived! I am so glad you like them and that they fit properly and everything! I loved working with the Lorna’s Laces–so soft, and the colors were so cheerful, I gotta tell ya’ it was hard sending them away!
P.S. I’m sorry I didn’t send you a note before–I was so sure they would arrive the next day and everything would be fine and then they didn’t and I started to get a little panicky, but then you were going out of town and I thought, well, if they’re not there when she gets back, I tell her that I definitely sent them and the Chicago mail system is from the devil and that I knew I should’ve put a tracking number on them but, whew, they got there and now I can rest.
For the record, though, I haven’t received socks from my pal yet. But that’s okay. I never really thought about the socks I was getting, just the ones I was sending. If they don’t come, c’est la vie. I’m sorry you’ve been burned so many times in the past, though.
Yay for socks! I’m still waiting for mine….
Once again our time was too short… but it was great to see you, C. Great socks 🙂
Your socks are great – I’m so glad they arrived safely! It would have been very bad knitting karma for anyone who would dare blow you off!
Yay sockpal! I’m glad it worked for you.
Ships passing in the night, but it was fun seeing you.
Yay for a great sockpal. What a relief. And the socks are quite lovely.
The socks are so cute! I love the colors!
And I am looking forward to seeing your fibery purchases! Sounds like everyone had a great time.

Those socks are gorgeous!
I wore the socks you made me all day today and everytime I looked down at them I just felt so happy. They are also very comfortable and fit perfectly. Thanks again!
You Rock! Thanks Cara!
Any chance of seeing you in New Hampshire this weekend? You could come up with my daughter, she is moving home on Wednesday. Then we could put you on the train to head home. Sound like a plan?
